Countersigned by "Commanding Officer" on the side with Underwood's rank & regimental attachment along the top. Indian & NZ (Oamaru & RTPO) cds on reverse. Aged cover with tatty edging. Remarkably clear 4 page letter details his situation & states "Mr Gladstone should be hanged". Also several pages of research notes.
